Back to Work

Back to Work

This week our city and state are starting to reopen a little more. As we look back at these last ten weeks, it just seems so unreal for everyone, including the essential workers. For us, our technicians still had to report to the office due to the line of work we perform; however, most of our office staff and marketing team has been working from home since the middle of March. And even though we are all starting to return to the office, it still is not back to normal yet. We have strict procedures to maintain everyone’s safety. Since our field technicians are often called out to provide cleaning services for commercial buildings with confirmed cases of COVID-19, we have set up containment and clean areas to ensure we all stay healthy.

For our marketing team, the social birds of our family, not being able to meet with our customers face-to-face, has been one of the toughest transitions. As a work family, some of the toughest changes have been not being allowed to gather as a team, with no breakfast meetings, no celebration gatherings, nothing. And as much as we want things to go back to normal quickly, we understand we must be safe as we move forward to prevent going backward. But we can plan, plan for future celebrations, team meetings without Zoom, lunch meetings with clients, trade shows, and golf tournaments. So although times seem odd and out of place, we remain hopeful and look forward to things returning to normal, regardless if we have a new normal to abide by or if everything returns to the way it was.

What has been the toughest part of all this for you? And what do you look forward to the most when returning to a standard work schedule?
